Annual Conference Update

Tapatio Springs Resort & Spa
Boerne, Texas

A second year in a row we had the great pleasure of staying at Tapatio Springs Resort & Spa, a great facility to bring your significant other to enjoy a relaxing weekend. Unfortunately this year my wife and daughter couldn’t attend the conference with me. All conference members and friends that attended missed them.

Why do I attend the conference? The conference promotes aquatic plant and pest control of our aquatic resources that are precious to all of us. It is also a great way to see new products offered by the industries leading manufactures and companies, whether it’s a new aerations systems, herbicide information, or about waters of the United States designation.

The 2 day conference covered topics that involved: Aquatic plant management tools and techniques, recent technological advances, research results that are relevant to our work, environmental laws and regulations, public outreach initiatives, and TAPMS business. All TDA certified aquatic pesticide applicators would receive CEU credits for attending.

Now the announcement I have been waiting to tell you about. I have been nominated as a board member for Texas Aquatic Plant Management Society for 2016. I look forward to helping further our industry and promoting our society to college and young professionals.

I would suggest that all interested individuals visit TAPMS website (www.tapms.org) to learn more and contact me if you have questions or ideas.

Have a great day on the pond!
